Modernizing Utility Networks with MPLS-TP
Orkufjarskipti’s partnership with DNWP spans more than a decade. During this time, dozens of Connection Master systems based on SDH technology, as well as a network management system (NMS), have been deployed across Orkufjarskipti’s network, forming a core part of its operations and monitoring capabilities.
While reliability remains fundamental, utility communications networks are also evolving. Across the industry, operators are gradually moving from proven SDH technology towards MPLS-TP. For Orkufjarskipti, this makes the ability to evolve its existing network particularly important.
