Why do we process your data?

DNWP will retain and process your personal data for the purposes described underneath. One or more purposes may apply simultaneously. When we process your personal data, we do not use automated individual decision-making, such as profiling.

We use your personal data to provide you with our products and services, to process your requests or as otherwise may be necessary in order to comply with the contract between you and DNWP, to ensure the functionality and security of our products and services, and to identify you as well as to prevent and investigate fraud and other misuses.

Some services, for example support services, require a user account to help you to manage your support content and preferences.

We use your personal data to manage our products, services, customer care, sales and marketing.

Communicating with you

We use your personal data to communicate with you, for example to inform you that our services have changed or to send you critical alerts and other such notices related to our products and/or services and to contact you for customer care related purposes.

We may contact you to inform you about new products, services or promotions or to conduct market research when we have your consent or it is otherwise allowed.

Do we share personal data?

We do not sell, trade or otherwise transfer your personal data to third parties unless otherwise stated below. We share your personal data if we have a legitimate interest, e.g. contractual rights or your consent to do so. We share your personal data with authorized third parties, for example in cases of:

  • Delivery of your purchases
  • Providing services
  • Billing
  • Managing customer data
  • Conducting research
  • Managing marketing and other campaigns

DNWP has a global sales organization and some sales persons are located outside of the European Economic Area (EEA). We share your personal data with persons who handle personal data for DNWP for the sales purposes. Therefore, your personal data may be transferred outside the EEA, to countries that do not have laws providing specific protection for personal data or that have different legal rules on data protection, for example to Thailand.

In such cases, we ensure that there is a legal basis for such a transfer and that adequate protection for your personal data is provided as required by applicable law, for example, by using standard contractual safeguards approved by relevant authorities.

In some cases, we are obligated by a mandatory law to disclose your personal data to certain authorities or other third parties, for example, for law enforcement agencies in the countries where we, or third parties acting on our behalf, operate.

We may also disclose and otherwise process your personal data in accordance with applicable law to defend DNWP’s legitimate interests, for example, in civil or criminal legal proceedings.

What are your rights?

  • You have a right to know what personal data we hold about you.
  • You have a right to have incomplete and incorrect personal data updated.
  • You have a right to have your personal data deleted (right to be forgotten).
  • You have a right to restrict the processing of your personal data.
  • You have a right to object to the processing of your personal data.
  • You have a right to cancel your prior consent to share your personal data. The withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of the processing made prior to its withdrawal.
