Siemens Connection Master launched

Dedicated Network Partners Oy (DNWP) and Siemens AG have signed an agreement whereby DNWP’s Connection Master hybrid node will also be branded as a Siemens product officially to be known as Siemens Connection Master. This agreement positions DNWP and Siemens as even stronger suppliers in the energy segment’s telecommunications market globally. Siemens is a global leader in the energy sector, and the products currently in DNWP’s portfolio have been used by over 300 power utilities.

Connection Master has been the key product in DNWP’s portfolio ever since the company was established in 2012. The design of Connection Master started in 2008; at the time the business was still in the hands of Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN). The first commercial deployment of Connection Master was completed at Vantaa Energy corporation in Finland in 2011. Since then, tens of utilities in power, oil, gas, railway and mass transportation segments have taken Connection Master in commercial use, along with public security authorities.

“Connection Master has been thoroughly evaluated and tested by Siemens and the solution has been recognized as a very good match to complement Siemens’ Energy Management Division’s wide solution portfolio”, says Ullrich Feuchtinger, Head of Partner Management for Turnkey and Smart Communication, Business Unit Digital Grid, Siemens Energy Management Division. “The combined functionality of SDH, Ethernet and TDM access in a single product gives Siemens a good opportunity to build modern solutions that will be in service for at least 15 years. Long lifetime with highest possible reliability is the key for our customers, and this is where Connection Master delivers according to the needs of utilities”, concludes Mr. Feuchtinger.

Jouko Päivinen, Managing Director of DNWP, is extremely pleased with the agreement. “DNWP has been in operation for nearly three years now, and this OEM agreement gives DNWP extremely interesting opportunities to grow even faster than what we have achieved so far. Co-operation with Siemens naturally started already at the time Connection Master was still owned by NSN, but this agreement is a major step forward for us. We are honored and proud that Siemens has, after extensive testing, given Connection Master high scores and approves the solution as the key product in the portfolio”, says Mr. Päivinen and extends his gratitude to the entire DNWP design team that has made Connection Master what it is today: a well-recognized world class product.
